
Leona Louise Lewis (born 3 April 1985) is a British performer, songwriter actor, activist and actress. She was born and raised in the London Borough Of Islington she was educated at the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology, Croydon. Lewis received national recognition as she was selected for the third series on The X Factor 2006 and was awarded a contract of 1,000,000 pounds with Syco music. An original Kelly Clarkson song"A Moment Like This" was her winner. It reached 50,000 digital downloads in just 30 minutes and peaked at number one for about four weeks. Clive Davis, Lewis's American record label J Records signed Lewis a five-album contract in February of 2007. Lewis has continued to be successful by releasing Spirit Her first studio album. It sold 10x platinum and certified by the UK. The album was the fourth-most popular album of the 2000, and was also among the most-sold UK albums. Spirit According to Official Charts Company is the record-breaking debut album of the 21st century by a female artist. Its top-selling single in the United Kingdom, Bleeding Love, remained at number. one for seven weeks, and was the best-selling album of 2007, According to the Official Charts company. The track was also the top-selling song in the US during the same time. Lewis won the Billboard Best New Artist Award next year. Echo was her sophomore studio album. She also wrote the hit song "I Love You" to accompany Avatar. In the year 2011, Lewis released the single "Collide" which was a collaboration alongside Swedish DJ Avicii, and her first extended performance, Hurt: The EP. The release of her third studio album, Glassheart (2012), represented a fresh direction in music for Lewis taking on dubstep and electronic music. Her Glassheart Tour was in the middle of 2013 when she started recording songs for her debut Christmas album. Christmas with Love came out later in the year. Its opening track, "One More Sleep" was a top three hit in the UK. Lewis was one of the few British female solo artist, was the first artist to make it into the top of the list with eight songs. It was a leap over Olivia Newton John's seven-year record.
